Mosaic Technologies Launches Construction of USDA Community Connect Grant Project

Cameron, WI – February 6th, 2026 — Mosaic Technologies announced today the start of construction on its USDA Community Connect Grant project serving portions of Barron and Washburn Counties. The project will expand high-speed fiber internet access to 644 previously unserved and underserved homes across the two counties.

In Washburn County, the grant will bring fiber internet to 372 homes located within portions of the Evergreen and Bashaw Townships. In Barron County, 272 homes in parts of the Crystal Lake, Almena, and Cumberland Townships will gain access to high-speed fiber connectivity.

In addition to residential service expansion, the grant project includes the creation of Community Centers in the Townships of Evergreen and Crystal Lake. Each Community Center will provide free public access to two computer workstations, printer access, and fast, dependable internet-creating vital connectivity hubs for residents.

Mosaic Technologies Scholarship Program Continues Its Legacy of Supporting Higher Education in 2026

Cameron, WI — Mosaic Technologies remains committed to education and empowering students pursuing higher education through financial support. Since its inception, the Mosaic Scholarship Program has awarded $145,500 in scholarships to more than 250 graduating high school students across its service area. This year we are excited to expand that with an increased amount of financial support to our chosen scholarship recipients.

As part of the upcoming 2026 Annual Meeting of Mosaic Technologies, scholarship recipients will be recognized for their achievements. Each winning student will receive $2,500, and those residing within the Cooperative footprint will receive an additional $1000, bringing their total award to $3,500.

Mosaic Technologies Completes Major Fiber Expansion in Dunn County

Cameron, WI – July 28, 2025 — Mosaic Technologies is proud to announce the successful completion of a major fiber expansion project, bringing high-speed internet access to homes and businesses in Dunn County, Town of Grant. With the support of a PSC Capitol Project Fund Grant, Mosaic has extended its fiber network to:

Town of Grant (Dunn County): 124 residential homes and 44 businesses

This expansion represents a total investment of over $2.3 million, with Mosaic Technologies contributing over $1.5 million of the funding.

“We are thrilled to expand fiber internet access in our local communities,” stated Director of Public Relations Chris Fitzgerald. “Whether it’s trenching a line, splicing fiber, installing new services, or providing 24/7 local support, the Mosaic family works hard every day to ensure our customers’ internet, phone, TV, and security needs are met.”

Mosaic Technologies Honored as Local Hero

Eau Claire, Wis. March 13th, 2025—The American Red Cross Northwest Wisconsin Chapter hosted its annual Heroes Breakfast at the Florian Gardens Conference Center in Eau Claire, honoring twelve individuals and businesses who have showed courage, commitment, and community-focus. Among the seven categories, Mosaic Technologies was recognized as the Community Impact Hero for the company’s commitment to providing free smoke detectors and installation.

Since the beginning of Mosaic’s participation in the American Red Cross Sound the Alarm program, 1,985 smoke detectors have been installed throughout the company’s service area. In 2024, 388 smoke alarms were added to homes across the northwestern Wisconsin region. Tammy Emerson, Mosaic Technologies CHRO remarked, “It is an honor to be a part of this rewarding program to support the safety and wellbeing of the communities we serve. We are humbled by the recognition. Without our team’s commitment, we would not be able to reach this milestone and improve the safety within our community.”

Mosaic Hosted the 2024 Barron County Cooperative Event

Cameron, WI – Thursday, October 10th, 2024 Mosaic Technologies opened its doors to members from across the county to celebrate the cooperatives. Approximately 1,000 patrons attended the annual event to celebrate and network with the Barron County Cooperatives and nonprofit organizations. Members received a free food truck meal and giveaways, and eligible members collected their capital credit checks.

Living out the cooperative principles, Mosaic Technologies, Barron Electric, Citizens Connected, WESTconsin Credit Union, Synergy Cooperative, Royal Credit Union, Mayo Health Systems, and Compeer Financial participated in coordinating and sponsoring this year’s event. The foundational 7 Cooperative Principles establish the guidelines for each company’s mission: democratic member control, concern for community, members economic participation, autonomy and independence, education training and information, cooperation among cooperatives, and voluntary and open membership. Months of planning and organization go into making a successful event as the Barron County Cooperatives work together to make each year’s celebration memorable and impactful. Through the help of the Barron County Sunrise Rotary, patrons were able to safely park and navigate the traffic.

This year’s celebration had an underlying theme of “Connecting Community” throughout the multiple booths. Baskets of nonperishable food items and paper products for the Prairie Farm-Ridgeland Emergency Food Pantry were collected totaling 558 pounds and $84. Among the food trucks, Barron Kiwanis flipped burgers and fried french fries to fundraise for a new Barron park bandshell. Many of the patrons lined up to support the nonprofit and its mission bringing the organization closer than ever to meeting their fundraising goals. The Salvation Army highlighted their upcoming holiday season Red Kettle Campaign. Barron County Historical Society and the Barron County Boys and Girls Club highlighted their capital campaign projects providing blueprints and fly-through opportunities for viewing. Barron County resources such as Sheriff Fitzgerald, WestCap, ADRC, and Health and Human Services provided networking and interactive booths. The event demonstrated the county coming together to celebrate, network, and connect.

Evolving and elevating the event is always a topic of discussion among the cooperatives to give our members an interactive experience while saying ‘thank you’ for being a part of our cooperative. This year, we chose to support multiple local food truck businesses, nonprofit organizations and their missions, and connect members with local resources,” remarked De Anna Westphal, Mosaic Technologies Public Relations Manager.

Barron County Cooperatives Celebrate

Cooperatives play a vital role in strengthening communities, fostering economic growth, and enhancing social cohesion. Unlike traditional businesses, cooperatives operate on the principles of mutual aid, democratic governance, and community ownership. Every year in October, cooperatives from around the county gather to celebrate with their members on October 10th, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm held at Mosaic Technologies.

The cooperatives encourage its members to join in on the celebration networking with county resources, interacting with cooperatives, entering to win prizes, enjoying a free lunch served by area food trucks, and receiving eligible capital credit checks. This year’s event focuses on gathering to raise awareness for the needs of the Prairie Farm- Ridgeland Emergency Food Pantry. The event will be collecting nonperishable food items, paper products, and financial donations to support the nonprofit organization.
