Mosaic Technologies Announces Executive Promotion of Tammy Emerson to Chief Human Resources Officer

Cameron, WI – On January 2nd, 2024, Mosaic Technologies announced Tammy Emerson’s promotion to Chief Human Resources Officer. CEO Domenico Fornaro was quoted saying, “I am excited to announce Tammy Emerson has agreed to serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer, acknowledging the work she has done for the company and the evolution of the work to be done within the company for strategic expansion.”

Mosaic Technologies’ exponential growth continues to stretch across Barron, Chippewa, Dunn, and Washburn counties. As the company continues to add to its talent and company portfolio, it was necessary to recognize the strategic alignment and restructure the Human Resources Department.

Tammy is celebrating her 25th anniversary with Mosaic Technologies. She began her career as a Customer Service Representative and continued to grow with the company as it evolved within the industry. She provides a wealth of knowledge of the company’s rich history and offers insight to better forecast future expansive growth. In 2019, Tammy Emerson was promoted to the Human Resources Director and in 2022 to Vice President of Human Resources. With her CHRO promotion, Ms. Emerson will oversee the human resources department across the companies for Mosaic Technologies, HomeTech by Mosaic, and MTech Construction enhancing corporate culture, strengthening public communications, and maintaining the legal department.

Cameron, WI -June 2023, Fiber-optic high-speed internet is now available to Sarona households and businesses with the first Mosaic customer activated in May 2023. Rick and Vicky Freitag are Sarona’s first Mosaic Technologies customers; they are now able to connect multiple devices to their high-speed internet through their Mosaic Managed Wi-Fi. When asked about their experience, Vicky immediately said, “I am getting things I haven’t been able to before on my phone and laptop. Cameron, WI – Mosaic Technologies, CEO Domenico Fornaro, accepts the Unwavering Law Enforcement Support award from Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald at the 65th annual meeting of the Cooperative. “On behalf of the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, we are proud to gather here today to present this award to Mosaic Technologies as a token of our appreciation for your unwavering support to Barron County,” said Barron County Sherriff Chris Fitzgerald. Domenico has shown outstanding leadership, commitment, and support to those we serve since 2019.

At Mosaic, we believe a strong leader produces a resolute team. Domenico proves every day what a strong leader looks like. He is willing to step out of his comfort zone to support his community in any way he can. After the tragic loss of two community police officers, he willingly took the opportunity to host a vigil for the fallen officers alongside his team at our headquarters in Cameron. Protect Against Phishing Scams

We’ve all seen emails in our inboxes that look a little phishy. As you probably know, phishing is a popular scamming method that uses real (or sometimes not so real) looking emails to get you to click on a link that then downloads a virus or other malware onto your computer. With online activity growing exponentially, cyber threats do too! According an article from earlier this year by cybertalk, 5 million new phishing websites are created every single month, allowing people to send slightly different web links (ex. instead of Yahoo.com, its Yah00.com) to trusted websites only to steal your information as soon as you click the link. If this happens on your personal email then you could face fraudulent charges, ransomware messages, and even identity theft, but if this happens on your work email, then you could cause thousands of dollars in damages or more to regain or resecure your business’s data.

Different Types of Phishing have Different Targets

Phishing can be split up into a few different categories. Spear phishing references targeted attacks that focus on a specific person’s information and make it seem like a boss or coworker of the target is talking about some everyday topic. They may ask you to buy a client a gift card for them quickly or send you an internal hiring opportunity to get you to click on the link without even thinking. It’s important to always double-check the email address before clicking on any links in your email. Another common type of phishing is actually called whaling and that refers to the targeting of senior executives and higher-up individuals who have access to most of the company. 2023 Sunspots: Shining a Light on Outages

Live TV Customers: You may experience some TV disruptions between October 6th and October 12th due to a phenomenon called Solar Satellite Interference (aka Sunspots).

What are Sunspots?

These brief occurrences can happen when the sun is in a direct line behind the satellites that transmit your cable signal to your homes. When the sun is in alignment with a satellite, the solar radiation interferes with the satellite’s signal and can cause a brief disruption to your TV-watching experience.

When do they occur?

These Sunspots occur twice a year, once in the springtime and again in the fall, and are usually quite short, lasting around just a week.

What kind of disruption can I expect?

You may experience some pixelated frames, picture freezes, or sound distortion, but it will should only last between 4 and 15 minutes.

Alan has over 20 years of operations experience spanning multiple industries. Cybersecurity Threats: The Next-Generation

As we kick off 2023, we’ve looked at some of the predictions made for how cyber security and its threats will look for this year in an article by Forbes.

Some of the trends mentioned were a big push for SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), a Zero Trust adoption, a rise in targeted ransomware, new cyber regulations with cyber insurance, and many more! Now let’s talk about what some of this even means!

SASE or Secure Access Service Edge

For those that aren’t familiar with SASE, it’s a combination of VPN and SD-WAN with cloud-native security functions like web gateways, Cloud access security brokers, firewalls, and zero-trust network access! This next step in simplified solutions is thought to be on the verge of a massive push by Forbes and you may be learning even more about it in the coming months.

Zero Trust Adoption

This is a scary name that just means constantly verifying your accounts. 2023 Mosaic Scholarships Now Open

Mosaic Technologies 2023 Scholarship Application Window now open, January 10, 2023, Cameron, WI

Cameron, WI, January 10, 2023 – Mosaic Technologies announces the opening of the scholarship application window for the fall 2023 academic semester. We are eager to award nine (9) $500 scholarships to graduating area seniors.

The recipients of these scholarships will be chosen based on their completion of the official scholarship application which should include their individual community involvement and their essay response regarding broadband’s importance beyond entertainment, further identifying how broadband is helping the community grow, develop, and attract people and businesses and the impact broadband has for overall positive economic growth and development.

All completed applications must be delivered or postmarked for delivery to the Mosaic Technologies Marketing Team by Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Scholarships will be awarded at the Annual Meeting in Cameron, WI.

“I am pleased to announce the availability of our scholarships for seniors in a customer or member household,” said Jenifer Mason. “This scholarship presents a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community and expand educational resources for our new generation of leaders.”

Since 1999, Mosaic has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to area graduating seniors committed to continuing their education in a 2-year or 4-year program. Last year, Mosaic awarded $8,500 in scholarships.
