Mosaic Technologies recognizes and supports the armed forces community throughout the year incorporating recognition for the service branches into the company’s fabric. Demonstrated through employment opportunities, the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting, Cameron’s National Night Out event, the Cooperative Day celebration, and Rice Lake Veterans Day programming, Mosaic pauses to honor and support the men and women in service.

New this year, Mosaic sponsored the third annual Rice Lake Veterans Lakeshore Drive Service Member Banner Project coordinated by the Rice Lake Chamber of Commerce. Twenty-one banners adorn Rice Lake’s Veterans Lakeshore Drive to honor past and present service members. The banner project is a grassroots community effort to support service member recognition funded by the Memorial Day In Remembrance 5k Run Walk. Rice Lake Chamber Executive Director, Jody Greiner welcomed the community to the event and each participant received a commemorative t-shirt, race bib, and an American flag. This year’s event had 100 participants and 14 sponsors successfully raising $4,400 to cover the cost of producing the banners and fund other Veterans Park projects. In November, during the Rice Lake Veterans Day program, the service members will be recognized and presented with their banners.

When asked about what this project means to her, Committee Member Coordinator Justine Bundgaard stated, “This means the world to me. This is an opportunity to honor the sacrifices of the men and women in service of the past and present while providing a platform to tell their stories so we may never forget. We continue the legacy of the community leaders before us and as this project grows, we will make Rice Lake recognized as Wisconsin’s Patriotic City.”

Later in the day, the Veterans Park was filled with over 200 community members to pay respect to fallen service members with a program by the VFW Post 2204 and Honor Guard.
