Local Manager

We are looking for a Local Manager to lead a seasoned team of technicians who install and maintain all residential and business services.  The Local Manager is also responsible for procurement, logistics, and building services.

This leadership role will have a strong focus on the customer experience, improving operational efficiencies, employee relations, and community relations.  The Local Manager will help to foster innovation and cross-functionally to drive performance and deliver results through customer contact and community involvement, allowing Mosaic to exceed our market growth targets and deliver 100% employee and customer satisfaction.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Meeting service activation and repair commitment dates, maintaining revenue and expense budget objectives and promotion of new and existing company products. Assists the Director of Operations in scheduling new service projects and changes in existing services and plays a key support role with sales and marketing in evaluating new opportunities.
  • Installs new services and equipment for customers by installing drop wires, station protections and network interface devices. Wires new systems using appropriate tools.
  • Install and maintain equipment for diversified technology services including broadband and video services.
  • Maintains and repairs existing equipment by using test sets to locate line trouble. Determines necessary repairs which may include repairing wiring, station protectors, ground connections, running new wires and replacing jacks, and pedestals as needed.
  • Conducts field checks to ensure that department employees adhere to established standards and safety requirements.
  • Able to articulate departmental KPI’s to the technician team (i.e., can clearly set goals/objectives to positively impact Mosaic).
  • Consistently provides feedback and direction to staff to ensure employee development, engagement and business knowledge; complete monthly employee performance appraisals/reviews.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by conducting regularly scheduled safety meetings, applicable safety training and reinforcing state/federal safety requirements within the workplace.
  • Maintains all company buildings and grounds and coordinates with internal personnel and/or independent contractors for all facility needs and upkeep.
  • Manages personnel responsible for incoming stock, placing inventory into warehouse, delivering stock to appropriate departments, and performing other warehouse maintenance duties.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
  • Community Relations: Positively represents the Company and communicates Company vision and direction through active engagement and involvement in the community

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess basic understanding of electronics, electrical circuitry, network installation and maintenance as well as FTTH and data networking.
  • Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills along with a strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure and/or with deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner to establish relationships and to assist with problem resolution.
  • Must possess basic PC skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be available 24/7 to support on call technicians and emergency situations as needed.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting technical documents and forms including purchase orders, invoices, expense reports, time reports, material requisition forms, work orders, trouble tickets, and service orders.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and understand maps and instructions.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid certificate to operate forklifts, or the successful completion of a Powered Industrial Truck training program to pass and receive forklift certification.

Education and Experience

Education:  BA/BS or MA/MS in Technology/Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or Operations Management

Required Experience:  Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of telecom equipment. Minimum of 5+ years of prior supervisory experience
