In 2023, as part of a Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) grant application for the Doyle and Rice Lake Townships within Barron County, Mosaic Technologies was awarded $3,498,216 to support the construction of 106 miles of fiber, passing 770 underserved and unserved households and businesses.
With an estimated total cost to construct of over $6.3 million, Mosaic Technologies committed $2,862,177 to support the fiber broadband expansion project.

The residents and businesses will experience Mosaic Technologies’ best-in-class internet service where there was no broadband access previously. Mosaic’s future-proof fiber broadband network features internet redundancy, symmetrical speeds, and scalability to 10 Gigs. The company continues to re-invest into its fiber broadband network maintaining its capabilities and expanding its network to serve the underserved and unserved communities throughout the region.

Mosaic Technologies has begun construction in the Rice Lake Township and is scheduled for construction to be completed by November 2026. During the celebration of the 66th Annual Meeting at Mosaic Technologies, 10 deserving students across the service area were awarded a $500 scholarship towards their higher education. Awarded students within the Cooperative footprint were awarded an additional $500 for a total of $1000. During the annual meeting on April 23rd, Mosaic Technologies recognized Ashley Kurschner and Mackenzie Weltzin from Barron School District, Alexis Schlough from the Boyceville School District, Zoe Nelson from the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser School District, Alyson Comstock, and Lauren Kahl from the Prairie Farm School District, Madison Kwak from the Menomonie School District and Adam Anderegg, Ellie Pacholke, and Ayla Zuzek from the Rice Lake School District.

On April 16th Mosaic Technologies responded to a donation request by the Dallas Civic Club to revitalize the Dallas Park located along the Dallas Flowage. The Sand Creek Park and Recreation Committee was presented with a check by the Mosaic Technologies Marketing and Public Relations Teams on May 2nd in the amount of $5,000 to support Memorial Park revitalization efforts. “This is an opportunity to support the communities we serve and provide financial backing to revitalize these public areas. These communities have made a wonderful grassroots effort toward making a big impact for the generations,” explained De Anna Westphal, Mosaic Technologies’ Public Relations Manager.

Eau Claire, WI

The American Red Cross hosted the 20th Annual Northwest Wisconsin Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Florian Gardens. On behalf of HomeTech by Mosaic, Chief Human Resources Officer and American Red Cross NW WI chapter board member, Tammy Emerson presented the Good Samaritan Hero Award to five individuals who sprang into life-saving action when one of their Jiu-Jitsu classmates collapsed unconscious. Teammates called 911 and assisted their classmate, Anthony McIntosh who is CPR certified. He performed life-saving measures on classmate Jim Wallin until the paramedics arrived and took over. Jim survived the terrifying incident and has returned to normal activity, including active participation in Jiu-Jitsu training.

The Jiu Jitsu martial arts team was honored with separate Good Samaritan Hero awards presented to Erik Allen, Haydn Owens, Anthony McIntosh, Jesse Reine, and Jesse Rennicke. Owner of the Rice Lake martial arts studio, Jesse Reine has also become CPR certified since the incident and hosts CPR classes at his studio. The facility has acquired an automated external defibrillator (AED) for emergency use.

Anthony McIntosh became CPR certified for his daughter and peace of mind should anything ever happen. He never thought he would have to use his skillset and knowledge on a friend. The team was also nationally recognized for their heroic actions with the Red Cross Lifesaving Award.
